Mike Garrett - Tournament Director

Mike has coached 23 football teams (youth and middle school) as well as travel and school softball teams. He has served on the Zionsville Youth Football League (ZYFL) for the past 10 years where his responsibilities included being the equipment director, operations director and most recently President of the Board. Mike has served on the Central Indiana Border Wars committee for the last 8 years as a rules advisor, marketing chair, team host, tournament scheduler and tournament director. The tournament generally has 90+ local teams that participate each season beginning in late October and ending the first weekend in November. Over 2,000 players and 145 games are played over the three weekend tournament. Mike also originated and operated the Zionsville Fall Classic that runs after Border Wars for two weekends and has 40+ teams participate. As an instructor and coach for Bishop Dullaghan football camps at Anderson and Depauw Universities each summer, Mike has developed a strong national network of middle school, high school and college coaches.

In 2011 USA Football contracted with Mike to act as the Marketing Coordinator for their summer youth camp in Indianapolis. Mike was responsible for implementing, coordinating and facilitating a player academy for local and regional youth players ages 7-14 as well as assemble a coaching staff of 40+ coaches and support staff. The previous 36 player academies had 65-135 players attend at each location. Mike was able to have 327 players attend the Indianapolis academy. Through an incentive program provided by a sponsor of USA Football, he was able to get over $30,000 in free football helmets for the participants to keep. In 2013, Mike coordinated, marketed, and hosted a Bishop Dullaghan youth football camp in Zionsville, IN with over 250 participants. Organizing a 3 day camp, obtaining sponsorships, securing facilities, hiring a coaching staff from 20 different organizations and working as a partner with Dick Dullaghan was a great experience.

For years, Mike has taken youth teams to National youth football tournaments around the country. He has taken the best practices from each of those tournaments and created the Indy Crossroads Championships.

Over the last 10 years, Mike has created many great relationships with officials, athletic directors, league officials from 40+ leagues in Central Indiana, equipment vendors, team/league photographers and apparel companies.

Mike is a graduate of Purdue University. He and his wife, Jenny, reside in Zionsville, Indiana with their three children.
